COVID-19 Update - November 2020

Good To Go EnglandAs lots of the country is plunged into this latest Lockdown 2.0, the latest Government guidelines state that COVID Secure venues, such as the Town Hall and Corn Exchange, can host business meetings and educationl/training sessions for up to 30 delegates.

Sadly, weddings, no matter how small, can not go ahead until 3rd December.

We have been constantly reviewing government and industry guidance over the past months and were declared 'Good to Go' by Visit Britain back in September! To put your mind at rest about visiting us, please see the following information:

* We have tightened our cleaning schedules across both venues and cleaning of shared surfaces will take place regularly. All high touch points (eg. tables, chairs, light fittings, door handles etc.) will be  sanitised before any meeting or gathering.

* Sanitising stations will be available and all hand soap contains additional sanitiser.

* There will be signage on the safe use of our lift and this area will be sanitised every day.

* Access to, and exit from, the venue will be restricted to the main door to ensure a new one-way system is adhered to. Please note that our team are more than happy to look at different solutions for visitors  with mobility issues.

* We will no longer be serving buffets at any events, however, we have worked closely with our catering suppliers and are able to offer individually wrapped picnics. We are also able to provide seated dining events with table service.

* Refreshments will feature disposable cups, stirrers etc and will be overseen by a member of the team to ensure social distancing guidelines are adhered to.

* New room layouts have been designed to ensure social distancing guidelines can be accommodated.

In line with latest government guidelines, we will be asking that you nominate one member of your party to keep a list of the names and contact details of those attending your event. This is to ensure we can support the NHS Test and Trace programme in the event of a COVID-19 case being reported locally. These details must be held for 21 days only and then securely destroyed.

We also ask that all guests wear face masks in the public areas of our building. These can be removed when you enter your meeting room.

If you are planning a meeting or looking to hold your wedding or civil ceremony later on in the year, please do ring us for a chat on 01380 723333 (our brand new number!) or email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
